The Saint Francis Healthcare Advanced Wound Care & Hyperbaric Oxygen Center is a full service state-of-the-art facility where the patient is our focus. Our highly trained wound certified medical team includes a Medical Director, Family Physician, Clinical Nurse Manager, Doctors of Podiatry, Case Managers and Hyperbaric Oxygen Technicians.

We deliver compassionate outpatient advanced wound management, innovative treatments, and oxygen therapies through individualized patient centered treatment plans to ensure the best outcomes for our patients.

During this time it is important to keep the damaged area sanitized and protected to prevent infection.

A chronic, non-healing wound can be the result of several different things. Many patients with diabetes have poor circulation in the legs, making it harder for the body to heal wounds in the foot or ankle area. Additionally, wounds caused by burns, frostbite, or radiation may have already damaged the soft tissue in the skin, hindering the body’s ability to heal.

Why doesn’t my wound heal?

Non healing wounds can result from many factors including: vascular disease, immobility, infection/inflammation, recurring trauma, poor circulation, and underlying chronic medical diseases such as diabetes.

How do I get help from the Wound Care Center?

You may call the Wound Care Center directly or be referred by your doctor. To make an appointment please call 302.575.8181.

Will I have to change my primary care doctor or specialist?

No. In fact, the Wound Care Center works with your physician or medical specialist during the treatments. We even keep your doctor informed with frequent progress reports. While you will be receiving treatment for your wound from the Wound Care Center, you will continue to receive all of your routine care from your primary physician.

Does insurance cover specialized wound care treatments?

Many health plans cover wound care center treatments. Call us to determine what your specific plan covers.
