St. Francis Cancer Committee
The heart of the St. Francis Healthcare Cancer Program is our Cancer Committee.
Cancer Committee is the designated multidisciplinary body for the administrative
oversight, development, and review of cancer care services at St. Francis.
Once each quarter we hold a committee meeting to discuss various topics
which involve all aspects of the cancer care provided to our patients.
Cancer Committee consists of representatives from Medical Oncology, Pathology,
Radiation Oncology, Radiology, Surgery, Nursing, and Palliative Care.
Also included are representatives from Quality Improvement, Oncology Patient
Navigation, Psychosocial Services, Nutrition Services, Cancer Registry,
Administration, the American Cancer Society and the Sidney Kimmel Cancer
Center at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. These participants collaborate
to offer a well-rounded, patient-centered Cancer Program.
Required standards put in place by the Commission on Cancer (CoC) ensure
quality care is given and improvement is constant. St. Francis endeavors
to exceed these standards while improving patient care, patient outcomes
and quality of life for our patients and their families. Our sense of
community at St. Francis is strong and does not waiver. Our dedication
to patients and community motivates us to always search for better and
more efficient ways to serve those in need.
