Patient and Visitor Services : Visitors Hours
Receiving support from family and friends during your hospital stay can help improve your spirits and aid healing. We ask that your visitors observe the hours and regulations outlined below so that you can get the rest you need.
- Visitors are limited to two at a time and must be 14 years of age or older.
- Children under 14 may visit parents or grandparents by appointment only (see below for exceptions in Family Birthplace). Visits should take place in the lounge or treatment room, if possible. Please see your nurse for details. Parents are discouraged from bringing small children to the hospital to visit because of the risk of exposure to infection.
- Visitors may not smoke anywhere on the St. Francis Hospital cpus, including the parking garages.
- Visitors may not bring food to patients who are on a special diet.
- Visitors must abide by all staff instructions.
- Intensive Care visits may be limited at the discretion of the nurse.
- All visitors must be free of communicable diseases and should not have recently been exposed to infection.
Visiting hours are scheduled for all units as follows:
Medical-Surgical Units

Times are arranged with individual therapies for family education.
Children may visit at established visiting hours.

Husband/significant other/designated support person, grandparents and siblings may be with the patient at the discretion of the nurse.

Special Care Nursery
- Parents, grandparents and siblings* may visit the Special Care Nursery 24 hours/day.
- Visitors are limited to two at a time and must scrub hands for visit. Please check with the nurse.
- Visiting may be limited at the discretion of nurse or physician.
* Sibling visits must meet specific Special Care Nursery guidelines.
