St. Francis Healthcare Services Volunteer Program

Who are Volunteers?

They are sons/daughters, aunts/uncles, moms/dads, grandparents - they are your neighbors. St. Francis volunteers come from various backgrounds with many different interests and talents. St. Francis Healthcare Services initiated our Volunteer Program in 1985 for members of our community to provide support services to our patients/residents and staff while fulfilling personal goals. Since then, hundreds of Delawareans have contributed countless volunteer hours in support of the hospital's mission of providing service excellence in a caring health-enhancing environment. Our volunteers provide St. Francis Hospital and the Franciscan Care Center at Brackenville with committed, compassionate volunteer service. Our volunteers are capable, dependable and respect confidentiality; they have a willingness to learn and explore new experiences and have a great desire to help others. The lives of our patients/residents and staff members have been greatly impacted by the time and talents of all our volunteers.

Our Volunteers are:

  • College students and teenagers seeking out potential career paths
  • Working people who want to support their community
  • Parents with just a few hours to spare
