Mission matters
Led by spiritual values and a tradition
of compassion, our Rehabilitation Unit provides supportive
services, education to both patients and their families,
and the highest quality patient care. No wonder our patients
feel encouraged, comforted and inspired to maximize their
opportunity for rehabilitation and re-entry into the community.
Does mission matter? At the St. Francis
Hospital Rehabilitation Unit, we think it makes all the
difference in the world.
A seamless transition
The St. Francis Rehabilitation program
is so efficient, hassle-free and convenient to enter that
every moment can be focused on restoring function. By creating
a small, well-staffed, carefully organized unit, we minimize
time-consuming paperwork and provide prompt, compassionate
treatment for your patients. This seamless transition into
our unit and its therapies speeds recovery and keeps a maximum
number of beds available for new arrivals. It is an easy,
effective process that patients, and those who refer them,
find most refreshing.
Our goals are your goals
Every aspect of our program is focused
on restoring patients to their optimal functional level.
Achieving this means:
- Meeting the physical, emotional
and educational needs of patients and their families with
the highest quality care
- Helping to prevent the complications
of a physical disability
- Assisting patients and families to
adapt to a new lifestyle
- Putting skills gained here into day-to-day
use as patients re-enter their communities
- Maximizing the services of community
agencies
Designed to succeed
Our sophisticated Rehabilitation Unit
provides:
- A 16-bed comprehensive inpatient
rehabilitation facility
- 7-day per week Physical Therapy (PT),
Occupational Therapy (OT) and Speech Therapy (ST)
- 24-hour, 7-day per week nursing care

stroke and amputee patients

needs of each patient

their rehabilitation goals
Admission guidelines
To be admitted in our Rehabilitation Unit,
your patient must require and be able to tolerate three
or more hours of therapy per day, with a minimum of two
therapies (PT, OT, ST). Patients must have a physical disability
which can realistically be improved through intensive rehabilitation.
Patients must also be medically stable and mentally and
physically capable of participating in our program.
Overcoming the overwhelming
For many, the road to recovery can appear
long, discouraging and even overwhelming. Our Rehabilitation
Unit team specializes in keeping patients inspired and motivated
to face and overcome every challenge. Compassionate support,
medical skill and a true sense of mission combine as we
celebrate each incremental success, reclaim critical skills
and return patients to the lives they want to lead.
