Employee Benefits:
Full Time and Part Time Employees

Health Insurance
Comprehensive health insurance coverage from Independence Blue Cross is available through payroll deduction.

Prescription Drug Plan
Coverage is through Advance PCS when enrolled in the health insurance plan.

Dental Insurance
The dental plan administered by United Concordia (UCCI), covering a wide range of dental services with an emphasis on preventative treatments is available through payroll deduction.

Vision Plan
The vision program offered through OptiChoice, PA Blue Shield, is available through payroll deduction. The benefits include eye exam, lenses, frames and contact lens.

Life Insurance
Life insurance through MetLife Insurance, equal to one times pay, is paid by the hospital. Additional supplemental coverage is available up to 5 times pay.

Dependent Life Insurance
Employees have the option to purchase dependent life insurance for their spouse (in $10,000 increments to a maximum of $100,000 OR 4x employee’s salary, whichever is less) and children ($10,000 or $20,000).

Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance
Employees receive coverage up to one times pay, paid by the hospital. If additional supplemental life insurance is elected, additional AD&D coverage will equal that amount.

Short Term Disability (STD) Insurance
Coverage is effective after one benefit year. Percentage of coverage and duration of coverage are based on years of service. Additional STD protection may be purchased.

Long Term Disability (LTD) Insurance
Long Term Disability coverage of 60% of base pay is provided by the hospital. (Part Time employees are not covered under Long Term Disability (LTD) Insurance.)

Flexible Spending Account
Pre-tax dollars may be set aside to cover healthcare and dependent care expenditures. Maximum of $3,600 for healthcare and $5,000 for dependent care.

Direct Deposit
An employee’s paycheck may be directly deposited into banks and accounts of their choice.

Hospital Holidays
Seven paid holidays each year including New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Paid Time Off (PTO)
Full time employees receive at least 15 PTO days per year. PTO for part time employees is prorated. New hires are eligible for Paid Time Off after completing the 3-month introductory period.

Cash Balance Pension Plan
A contribution is credited to a retirement account for each year an employee has completed 1,000 hours of service. Employees are vested after 5 years of service.

Tax Sheltered Annuities (TSA) or 403(b)
Employees have the opportunity to invest pre-tax dollars into a retirement account administered by Lincoln Financial.

Tuition Reimbursement
Employees are eligible for reimbursement for pre-approved job related courses through an accredited college or university for a grade of "C" or better. Full Time - Graduate and Undergraduate, 100% reimbursement of up to two courses each term, maximum of $4,200 yearly. Part Time - Graduate and Undergraduate, 100% reimbursement of up to two courses each term, maximum of $2,100 yearly.

Employee Assistance Program
An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provided by Human Management Services is available to all employees through a confidential 24 hour toll free number.

Credit Union (Delaware Alliance)
Convenient payroll deductions available into 4 separate accounts: checking account, regular savings, Christmas Club and Vacation Club.

Blood Bank of Delaware
Membership fees for employees and their family are fully paid by the hospital.

Car and Homeowners Insurance
Employees can receive a discount through Nationwide Insurance. Premiums are paid through convenient payroll deductions.

Child Care
Child Care affiliated with St. Francis is located one block from the hospital.

Adoption Benefits
Employees are eligible after 1 year of service for $4,000 (FT) or $2,000 (PT) towards the covered expenses related to the adoption of a child.

Parking
Employee parking is available for a monthly charge of $15 (FT) or $10 (PT).

Cafeteria
Employees receive a discounted rate.
