CARDIAC CATHETERIZATION LAB PROCEDURES

For Advanced Diagnosing, Monitoring and Treatment

Saint Francis Healthcare's cardiac catheterization labs utilize advanced digital imaging technology to perform sophisticated diagnostic procedures used to evaluate the condition of the heart and its blood vessels. Procedures are performed by a trained cardiologist who is assisted by certified technologists. During a cardiac catheterization procedure, the cardiologist guides a catheter, a small tube-like device, through a patient’s large body arteries until the catheter reaches the coronary arteries. Once the catheter is in place, the cardiologist will inject dye through the catheter to take images to assess the structure and function of the heart.

We perform:

  • Cardiac catheterization, either by the femoral or radial artery
  • Coronary angioplasty and stenting
  • Peripheral vascular angiography
  • Peripheral vascular revascularization with angioplasty, stenting, atherectomy or drug therapy
  • Pacemaker and defibrillator implants
  • Cardiac ablation for arrhythmia
  • Endovascular stent repair of abdominal aneurysms
